Prepare for Some Bad News
Have you noticed that the amount of spam e-mails that you have been going down in the last year or so? The good news is that you are not alone, as spam blockers seem to be doing the job fairly well and only those misguided people who still refuse to take the step to protect their security will still be suffering from this 21st century plague.
It wasn't so long ago that spam was a nightmare to the vast majority of computer owners. Spam e-mails were everywhere, mail boxes were being clogged up on a daily basis, and opening and when you opened an e-mail attachment you felt that you were taking a tremendous and unwarranted risk.
Thankfully these days seem to be behind us, but it doesn't mean that we have to get complacent. Computer hackers are still hacking and one thing you can be sure of is that if they find a chink in your armour they will exploit it. And not only that they are never reluctant to return to places where they have been before to find if any of the barriers that have been constructed are starting to get a bit rusty. And this appears to be happening with e-mails and attachments.
Recent reports are beginning to show that a fresh wave of spam mails are hitting the web, and the unsuspecting public are clicking on links and opening attachments that appear to come from a reliable source. These links and attachments are tainted with a virus that will introduce malware, adware and/or Trojan horses into their computer.
By virtue of doing so they now have access not only to your email, but to your address book as well. It's all too common these days to hear of folks whose accounts have been compromised only to have all their friends get inundated with spam, threats, malicious emails or messages that try to impersonate you and scam your contacts out of money.
The only form of protection available is for every computer on the internet to have reliable anti-virus software installed, and not one that can be downloaded for free from the internet. In this case you only get what you care for can be switched with you only get what you deserve.
Investing in professional anti-virus software means just that. Your computer is being protected around the clock and no matter where the attack comes from you will be prepared.
