McAfee Protects the Computers of a Work-at-Home Mum
Work-at-Home Mom also uses McAfee to protect her confidential
client information
Lori Hoffman is a very typical PC user: She runs her home computer using both personal applications and business software, but remains concerned that confidential information may be available to those probing eyes who are online to do more harm than good. She needs to protect her client information from identity theft.
Hoffman, a married 36-year-old stay-at-home mom in Tampa, Florida, works from her own home office in the insurance industry. Hoffman has trusted McAfee ever since she purchased her first computer. When she received her first computer she immediately installed anti-virus software because she knows that McAfee has always stood up to new and emerging security threats over the years.
"I primarily use my home computer for work now," Lori explained. "I can log onto my company's system remotely and do everything I need to do. Secondarily, we use our PC for email and the Internet. We try to shop online and complete daily chores online rather than drive from one destination to another with our baby. We even reserve books at the library online, then go through the drive-through to pick them up."
For Lori and her husband, choosing McAfee over competitors was a no-brainer. "I use McAfee both at home and at work. It all started when we got a new home computer and the McAfee protection software came bundled in it. Also, my brother, who is a computer programmer for a large bank, highly recommended it, too."
Lori understands that because her family uses the computer for personal usage, there is the constant threat of online security breaches to her computer. Lori works in a highly private and confidential insurance business, so she's just as concerned about protecting her clients' information, as she is about protecting her own and her families'.
McAfee protects against many online threats including, bulletproof protection against hackers, phishers, Trojans, and spyware. "Also, if I were to lose any files, the data backup feature would restore them in a flash. I can set it to automatically create archives of my files on a CD/DVD, external hard drive, or networked drive. It doesn't get much better than that!"
Lori is also concerned about the amount of online spam that has become a problem during recent years. She also realizes how spam can paralyze a person's e-mail if they don't have a reliable online security product. The McAfee Security Center filters out the spam, protecting her email and instant messages from threats like viruses and spyware.
McAfee is highly recommended by Lori. Her priority to keep her family safe is the number one concern. As a result, she trusts McAfee to protect her family against the dangers of the Internet. Keeping her information safe is a large concern as well, and McAfee has done a great job for her - and continues to lead the industry when comes to identifying new online threats.
"I feel confident that we'll be able to rely on McAfee for many years to come," she explains.
